Quality policy: Continual enhancement of customer satisfaction by continual improvement in quality of service and product
Akros Technology Private Limited is an ISO 9001:2000 certified organization. Quality/Process models are integrated with Six Sigma methodology as a tool for continuous optimization for our processes. All projects adhere to simple and effective processes and methodologies. All such processes are documented and measured to demonstrate adherence. Effectiveness of the processes are measured and improved upon. Akros Quality Management System (QMS) has defined process flows for Design, Development, Testing, Conversion and Maintenance Projects.
Defined documented system exists as per ISO 9000 and high level organization requirements. The documentation style used by Akros is the ETVX (Entry Task Verification Exit) model. Akros Quality Management System (QMS) is a rich repository of procedures, guidelines, standards and forms. The QMS documents the project execution and project management processes that have been tried and tested in the demanding environment of software export consulting area and have evolved and matured over the last few years.
Akros QMS consists of four sections:
- Procedures
- Guidelines
- Standards
- Forms
The QMS follows Top-Down architecture. A section may have different sub-sections. Each sub-section represents one top-level process. Each sub-section is then further divided into different procedures. Each procedure describes activities for individual process related to top-level process.
At Project Level the documentation maintained as per Quality Management System are the Project Plan, Quality Plan, Configuration management Plan, Risk Management Plan, Training Plan, Test Plan and Metrics Plan. These documents facilitate Project Management activity. Projects also maintain Work Product related documents like Design document, FS document, Test Cases, etc.
Akros's Quality Management System is uniform across all locations at offshore facilities in India . Maintaining Uniformity was a challenge to Akros, but this challenge was foreseen at the time of Process Definition and Implementation. The uniformity across locations was ensured through following measures:
- Centralized update and Control of the Quality Management System (defined process)
- Cross Location Audits (Audits where Auditor is from a different location)
- Common repository for Knowledge Management (Akros Knowledge Management System)
- Standardized Quality training courses (in terms of content and methodology)
- SQA networks across all locations
- Standardized reporting and measurement across all location
- Common Management Review
- Infrastructure like e-mail, same time, Video Conferencing, etc to aid meetings like Management Review where all locations participate simultaneously
An Organization Structure for Projects as well as the Quality Dept that provides both flexibility and room for operation at the same time ensuring a Centralized Control
